DUBAI – A new partnership between the Dubai Community Contributions Establishment (JOOD) and Pakistan Medical Centre (PMC) aims to strengthen access to healthcare for patients unable to afford medical treatment in Dubai.

The collaboration will launch community fundraising campaigns to support essential healthcare services, including consultations, diagnostics, medicines and treatment for those in need.

The initiative brings together Dubai's community giving ecosystem and the emirate's first non-profit healthcare facility licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), reinforcing efforts to make quality healthcare more accessible through collective community support.

New community drive

The partnership is built on the belief that access to healthcare is a fundamental pillar of quality of life. Both organisations said the initiative reflects their commitment to encouraging individuals, businesses and institutions to contribute towards helping patients while expanding the reach of sustainable and impactful healthcare services.

Pakistan Medical Centre has established itself as a community-driven healthcare institution by bringing together volunteer doctors, specialists, healthcare professionals and strategic partners under a shared humanitarian mission. Although it carries the name "Pakistan", the centre serves patients from diverse nationalities and backgrounds across Dubai, reflecting the emirate's values of inclusion, diversity and compassion.

As Dubai's first non-profit healthcare facility licensed by the DHA, PMC provides comprehensive healthcare services through a volunteer-led model supported by medical professionals and community partners.

Fundraising plans

Under the agreement, JOOD will facilitate the onboarding of PMC's healthcare initiatives onto its digital platform and complete the required processes for launching community fundraising campaigns. The establishment will also support marketing and awareness initiatives designed to encourage individuals and organisations to contribute towards healthcare programmes.

The first phase of the partnership will focus on funding patient treatment, medical consultations, diagnostic services and medications for people who cannot afford healthcare costs. Both organisations said the programme is expected to expand over time to support a larger number of beneficiaries across the community.

The fundraising campaigns are intended to provide donors with a trusted and transparent platform through which their contributions can directly support patients requiring essential medical care.

Marwan Rashed BinHashim, Chief Executive Officer of JOOD, said the partnership reflects the establishment's vision of transforming the values of giving into practical initiatives that improve people's lives.

He described Pakistan Medical Centre as an outstanding model for non-profit healthcare and said the collaboration would help empower charitable organisations by connecting them with contributors through a transparent ecosystem that strengthens confidence in community donations and ensures funds are directed towards meaningful and lasting social impact.

BinHashim said the agreement goes beyond supporting healthcare services, representing the type of collaborative model JOOD seeks to promote by bringing together specialised institutions, generous individuals and the private sector to expand access to quality healthcare.

"When these efforts come together around a shared humanitarian purpose, we do more than provide treatment," he said. "We offer hope, improve quality of life and demonstrate the power of community in supporting those most in need."

Hana Al Awadhi, Head of Strategy and Communications at JOOD, said enabling community giving requires innovative tools and effective communication channels that ensure donations reach beneficiaries efficiently.

She said JOOD's digital platform would showcase humanitarian healthcare initiatives in ways that encourage greater public participation while helping build awareness of the importance of healthcare solidarity.

According to Al Awadhi, the organisation's communications efforts are focused not only on sharing stories but also on encouraging individuals and organisations to become active partners in supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey.

An important milestone

Dr Faisal Ikram, President of the Pakistan Association Dubai, said Pakistan Medical Centre has benefited from continued support from Dubai's government institutions since its establishment, allowing it to extend healthcare services to thousands of beneficiaries from different nationalities.

He said the support reflects Dubai's values of coexistence, generosity and service to humanity.

Dr Ikram described the agreement with JOOD as an important milestone that will help expand the centre's services and reach a wider section of society through a trusted fundraising platform.

He added that the partnership would enable community generosity to be transformed into sustainable healthcare support, allowing more patients to benefit from essential medical services while strengthening the role of collective giving in improving access to healthcare across Dubai.
